Roam Employability Programme
Skills, training, and opportunity for women
Supporting local women in Lambeth and Vauxhall who face barriers to employment, including mothers returning to work, survivors of domestic abuse, and refugees.
We understand that finding a job can be a complex and discouraging process, especially after time spent focused on childcare, family, or community commitments. Our goal is to make that return to work feel achievable, supportive, and empowering.
At Roam, we provide a familiar, welcoming environment where women can build confidence, learn practical skills, and take clear steps toward sustainable, long-term employment.
Participants can gain hands-on experience across different areas of our social enterprise, including:
Cafe operations – customer service, food preparation, and barista skills
Play space management – supporting children’s play in a safe, inclusive setting
Preloved shop retail – merchandising, customer care, and stock management
Join together
in partnership
We will work in partnership with local training providers, community groups, and employability charities to offer wrap-around support, including mentoring, skills development, and job-readiness guidance.
This holistic approach aims to empower women, improving not only their career prospects but also their confidence, wellbeing, and family stability.
We are currently developing this programme and welcome partnerships with organisations, funders, and mentors who share our vision for creating meaningful opportunities for women facing barriers to work.
